Marcel Luske and Jason Mercier are the two latest additions to Team PokerStars Pro
PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker room, has announced the signing of Marcel Luske and Jason Mercier to their Team PokerStars Pro which includes players such as Greg Raymer and Daniel Negreanu.
Luske is a highly experienced Dutch player who is well known for his snappy dress sense at the table and he was also ranked number one in Europe in 2001 and 2003. However, in 2004 he really came to the attention of the poker world when he finished second in a Stud event at the WSOP and then came 10th in the main event. Luske is the founder of ‘Federation Internationale de Poker Association‘ (FIDPA) which is aiming to standadise the rules of poker.
Jason Mercier meanwhile is a 22-year-old former high school basketball coach turned pro poker player. He captured his first bracelet at this year’s World Series of Poker in the $1500 pot-limit Omaha event. However, his biggest win to date is the EPT San Remo event in 2008 which he won for $1,372,893. In the same year he also finished sixth in the PokerStars EPT Barcelona main event and won the PokerStars London EPT High Rollers event. He currently has live earnings of over $3.2 million.
