Results from the LEOCOP IV $220 PLO Championship
The winner of last nights Ladbrokes Poker LEOCOP IV $200+$20 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship (with $10,000 added) tournament certainly hasn’t had to wait for hell to freeze over to cash big in Europe’s most prestigious online poker festival.
Finland’s Hehellover, 28, has only been playing online poker at Ladbrokespoker.com for little over a month and like james666, yesterday’s Sunday Deepstack winner, has clinched a win after a number of nominal placings (Hehellover has played in a number of the festival tournaments, finishing in 17th place in the LEOCOP Opening tournament, 27th in the $50 Rebuy and 48th in the LEOCOP 2nd Chance Plus 1). He is now enjoying tournament cashes that total $22,865 and the real possibility of playing in Poker Million VII. The televised tournament is to be screened live on Sky Sports 2 on December 15th.
Other familiar names that put in an appearance last night were Ladbrokes sponsored pro’s Roy ‘ROYTHEBOY’ Brindley, Jeff ‘JaffaCake’ Kimber and Andreas ‘_Theah_’ Hoivold. Sophiexxx, who won the LEOCOP festival’s 2nd Chance Plus finished 25th, cashing $539 and placing him in 10th position on the LEOCOP Masters Leaderboard and in the running for a share of the $14,000 in bonus cash that is up for grabs.
The story could have been very different for Hehellover however, as a key hand played out early doors on the final table proved pivotal in his campaign to secure victory. Heads-up play commenced with Hehellover enjoying a 2:1 chip lead thanks to him winning a tussle with Mutteri who went out in third. The tournament was eventually won after the blinds passed back and forth between the players.
Hehellover raised pre-flop and was called by ThomasToget. The flop was Jc-7s-3c, ThomasToget check-raised Hehellovers initial bet of $66,000 to $264,000 – only to be re-raised all in for $462,000. ThomasToget called and the rest, as they say, is history as ThomasToget showed 6s-5s-Qh-7c and Hehellover showed Ad-Ah-10s-10c for the lead. The turn was the Jh and the river was Qd – meaning Hehellover’s hand held up and as a result ThomasToget went out in second with $13,492.50 and ended the night in 34th position on the LEOCOP Masters leaderboard.
