Gary Hills has taken down the Leeds leg of the PokerPlayer UK Tour
Gary Hills has beaten a sell-out field of 151 players to claim the Leeds leg of the PokerPlayer UK Tour and the £5k first prize. Hills beat Dave Stannard in an epic final which lasted into the early hours of Sunday morning (24th July). Stannard went into the final table as a big chip leader with over 100,000 and even reached heads-up with a 2/1 chiplead but he wasn’t able to overcome Hills’ tight-aggressive play. ‘I played tight all day and just waited for spots,’ said Hills.
Along with the £5k purse, Hills also gets automatic entry to the PokerPlayer UK Tour Grand Final on November 26.
There is one more stop on the first season of the tour, a £110 event in Teesside. There are loads of ways to qualify including:
– $33 freezeout on August 14 at 7pm, seven seats guaranteed
