Danish player wins $1.26 million
The PokerStars World Championships of Online Poker are over. Done. Finito. After 62 events and more than $45 million in prize money, the poker world can relax. Although we doubt Thomas ‘Kallllle’ Pedersen will be putting his feet up just yet.
The Danish player beat a whopping 1,627 entrants in the two-day $5,000 WCOOP showpiece, netting a tasty $1,260,018 for his troubles.
After a five-handed deal on the final table, Kelllller became the only player in this year’s series to walk off with a six-figure sum, eventually defeating Vojtech “Vojta_R” Ruzicka heads up for an additional $100,000 and all the glory.
Kelllller’s victory signalled the end of this year’s WCOOP and finalised the standings for the WCOOP player of the year. That honour went to former tennis pro Joel ‘2FLY2TILT’ Gordon and Big_Nemo after both players accrued 295 points over the series. The duo just outshone Daniel “KidPoker” Negreanu, who also snuck into the top three.
