Triple Crown winner joins Team PKR Pro
After days of speculation on PKR’s forums, the site has proudly unveiled rising UK star Jake Cody as the newest and biggest member of Team PKR Pro.
In a major coup for the 3D site, Cody has chosen PKR over a number of rummoured suitors and finally penned his first professional contract since bursting onto the scene back in 2010 after victory at EPT Deauville.
Since then, Cody has added a WPT title and WSOP gold to his trophy haul, thanks to victories in London and this summer’s WSOP Heads-Up Championship – making him not only the youngest, but the fastest player to win poker’s elusive Triple Crown.
Speaking on PKR.com after being announced as its newest pro, Cody said he was ‘very VERY excited about joining Team PKR Pro’.
‘I’ve been patient with sponsorship, waiting for the right deal to come along. When I spoke to PKR I was really impressed with the whole setup and the ideas that they have going forward, and I knew straight away I wanted to be part of it! It’s a great site to be involved with right now and I think I can help take it to the next level.’
Cody is currently in London for the inaugural IFP Duplicate Poker Nations Cup. For more on his recent success, check out our exclusive Q&A with Cody and his best mate Matt Perrins here.
