After almost four months of anticipation, we are back to conclude the biggest event in the poker calender.
The wait is finally over and after three and a half long months perfecting their strategies, working with mind coaches and securing the best sponsorship deals, the November Nine have returned ready to do battle in the hope of being crowned World Champion of Poker, there is also the small matter of $8.7 million to be claimed too.
Adding further emphasis to how the powers of poker have shifted across to this side of the Atlantic, five of the nine players seated at this years final table are European, including our very own Sam Holden, Irishman Eoghan O’Dea, currently sitting in second place, and Martin Staszko, the man from the Czech Republic who currently holds a strong chip lead.
But the player that everyone will be keeping the closest eye on is American Ben Lamb, the man from Tulsa is on an incredible run with a 1st, 2nd, 8th and 12th already at this years WSOP. A win here will cap off one of the greatest WSOP performances in the events history.
Play is scheduled to resume this Sunday at 18:30 GMT and will continue until there are only two men left standing. The pair will then return on Tuesday to play heads-up for the bracelet.
TV coverage of the final table is being broadcast on ESPN2 and ESPN 3 but with a 15-minute delay.
