Haxton unveiled as first SuperStar Showdown contender
The PokerStars SuperStar Showdown kicks off this Sunday with experienced grinder Isaac ‘philivey2694’ Haxton first to try his luck against high-stakes mysterio Isildur1.
The players will each risk $150,000 of thier own money across four tables of $50/$100 heads-up no-limit action. And if both pros are still standing after 2,500 hands, the one with the most chips will win the profit and a $10,000 bounty courtesy of PokerStars.
The railbirds are still reeling from Isildur’s re-emergence as a PokerStars pro last week and many will be hoping that Haxton – who boasts more than $2.8m in live tournament earnings – can capitalise on what has been an up-and-down start to the Swede’s new life on Team Pro.
And with PokerStars still allegedly set on unmasking Isildur1 at the Caribbean Adventure in January, this Sunday’s match-up will do nothing to dent the furore surrounding high-stakes poker’s most talked about star.
