Macau Sporting Club’s sixth annual Irish Poker Classic is underway in Cork
The Macau Sporting Club’s sixth annual Irish Poker Classic festival is imminent with 165 players pre-registered for the €1,500 + €100 main event already including local and international stars Annette Obrestad, Rumit Somaiya, Dara Kearney, Roy “The Boy” Brindley, Mick McCloskey, Sylvester Geoghegan, Marty Smyth, Fintan Gavin, Paul Lecky, Nicky Power, Kevin O’Leary, Michael Dolan, and John Keown.
Thursday 14 August is the last chance to qualify for the €150,000 guaranteed main event which looks likely to sell out this Friday. Eight seats are guaranteed in Thursday’s mega bonus super satellite which is a €200 + €20 no-limit hold’em freezeout taking place at 7pm in the Macau Sporting Club, Cork.
Today sees the ladies event and the pot-limit Omaha €300 + €30 event with one rebuy or add-on during the first three levels.

13 August Ladies event no-limit hold’em freezeout €150 + €15
13 August Pot-limit Omaha – 1 rebuy or add-on during levels 1/2/3 €300 + €30
14 August Mega bonus super satellite Irish Poker Classic freezeout €200 + €20
15 August €150,000 guaranteed main event freezeout (three days) €1500 + €100
16 August WSOP Europe satellite -1 rebuy/add -on 1 seat guaranteed €500 + €50
17 August No-limit hold’em scalp freezeout – 1 rebuy or 1 add-on €270 + €30 + €30
The main event has a 15,000 chip starting stack with 75 minute blinds and the Macau is guaranteeing eight tickets at the mega bonus satellite on Thursday 14 August. Irish players should check their local card clubs for the remaining live satellites which are taking place over the next 10 days also.
