With the Cheltenham Festival in full swing in Gloucestershire and the bookies rubbing their hands after favourite and favourite underperforms, Betfair have joined the party with a Racing flavoured tournament.

And good value it is too. Players can compete against the top runners for the Cheltenham Festival’s most prestigious horse race in the Betfair Gold Cup of Poker.

Bounties will be paid to the players who knock out the Gold Cup hopefuls. Ten of the best backed horses on Betfair will “play” in the tournament with Kauto Star taking the highest bounty of $500.

There will be $2,750 worth of bounties on the top-ten backed horses on Betfair.

Betfair Poker has added $10,000 to the prize pool for the $22 buy-in tournament which takes place at Betfairpoker.com on Thursday 15th March at 8pm UK time.

Betfair’s Head of Poker Ben Fried said, “Everyone’s watching the Cheltenham Festival at the moment and we know the players love bounty tournaments so we thought we’d combine the two. I’ll certainly be playing a few hands of poker between races.”
