The UK’s Andrew Feldman is invited to play on the new series of High Stakes Poker
The UK’s Andrew Feldman has confirmed that he will be appearing on season six of High Stakes Poker, generally acknowledged as the best televised poker show ever produced. Amazingly, Feldman will be the first UK player to ever appear on the show and will no doubt be joining regulars such as Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein and Tom Dwan battling it out for huge sums of cash.
London based Feldman said, ‘Apparently I was recommended to the producer by none other than Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan. Maybe he thinks I’m good value, maybe he thinks I’ll give action…I hope it’s the latter. Last month I played the Full Tilt Million Dollar Cash Game, but this is going to be just as tough, if not tougher!’.
High Stakes Poker made a triumphant return earlier this year after reports that the show had been axed by US TV network GSN. Tom Dwan made his debut and was the undoubted star of the show, winning a pot worth over $900k against Barry Greenstein – at that the time the biggest cash poker pot in televised history.
The full lineup for this season has not been announced yet but already there has been plenty of speculation on other aspects of the show. PokerStars.com has bought sponsorship rights for the first time and veteran commenatator AJ Benza has been controversially axed in favour of a female co-host to add a bit of glamour to the proceedings.
PokerPlayer will have more news on the show as it is announced, with filming set to take place in a few short weeks.
