Scandinavian Poker Masters set to begin on Monday 13 August as online qualifiers take on top pros

PartyPoker.com Scandinavian Poker Masters – The Game, Scandinavia’s first televised high stakes cash game gets underway in London on Monday 13 August and runs until the 17 August.

It kicks-off with two six-player semi-finals featuring online qualifiers. The winners of the semi-finals both then receive $50,000 to enter the high stakes main game where they will be joined by a group of top pros.

Patrik Antonius, Martin De Knijff, Jan Sørensen, Kristian Kjøndal, Per Hildebrand, Rene Mouritsen, Tore Lagerborg, Ilari Sahamies, Fredrik Halling and Tobias Persson will be joined by Tony G and David “The Devilfish” Ulliott.

Also recently confirmed is Finland’s Juha Helppi, who saw off Phil Hellmuth to become PartyPoker.com Premier League champion.

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: “The two qualifiers are simply going to enter a den with a group of lions on a feeding frenzy but it is an amazing opportunity to sit down with $50,000 in such company."

"The line-up features some of the most prominent cash game players in the world and others laden with WSOP bracelets and WPT titles. Tony G and Devilfish were added to the line-up to spice it up a bit – there’s no chance of silence at the table with these two around!”

The high stakes cash game will be televised this autumn. Since this is a cash game there is no given prizepool, but every player has to buy in for an initial $50,000.

‘The Game’ will continue as long as there is money left or until the time runs out. The ten semi-finalists that miss out on the final will play for a share of $20,000 in a runner-up tournament.
