First Leg of 2013 GUKPT arrives in London for a six-day festival of poker
The opening leg of this year’s Grosvenor UK Poker Tour has kicked-off in some style at the popular Victoria Grosvenor Casino in the heart of the English capital. The first stop on this seasons 12 leg tour lasts for six-days and will feature seven unique events, with the highlight being the £1,070 Main Event which begins on February 28. On top of the seven events, there are a host of satellites running all through the week giving players the best possible opportunity to qualify to all events at a fraction of the cost.
If last year’s Main Event is anything to go by, we’re in for a big treat this time round. Attracting a field of 315 players, it featured many of the UK’s biggest and best players, including the likes of James Akenhead, Praz Bansi and Victoria Coren, but in the end it was born and bred Londoner Robin Keston, who walked away with the £84,310 first prize. We wonder how the defending champion will fare this year…
The first of the seven events is already under way but there is still plenty of time to sign up for all the others, with an excellent selection of different buy-ins and variants to choose from.
