Colchester’s Dave Clark claims the Luton Leg of the Grosvenor Poker Tour and the £97,300 first place prize
The latest stop on the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour took in the G Casino in Luton over the weekend of 9-12 August, and attracted some of the biggest names in British poker.
Fresh from his World Series of Poker bracelet win, Hendon Mobster Ram Vaswani sat down, as well as other stars such as Roland de Wolfe and Surinder Sunar.
Dave Clark from Colchester won this, the seventh leg, of the GUKPT, defeating a field of 314 players to take home the £97,300, an additional £10,000 provided by tour sponsor Blue Square and a seat in the £3,000 Grand Final at the end of the year.
He defeated Warren Wooldridge after a short heads up battle at the end of a marathon final table that lasted over 10 hours.
In the final hand Clark held J-9 against Wooldridge’s Q-5, but the damage had already been done a few hands earlier when Dave’s pocket Kings beat Warren’s Q-8 on an 8 high flop.
The next stop sees the Tour visit Plymouth 6-9 September.
