Goliath sets sights on last year’s record-breaking total
It’s back! GUKPT’s Goliath, the UK’s ultimate amateur poker championship returns to Coventry today for five-days of all-out action.
Following last years record breaking event, Europe’s biggest land-based event, has raised the bar even higher and hopes to attract 2,400 entrants up from last year’s 1,765.
Taking place at the Ricoh Arena’s Grosvenor G Casino, there is a guaranteed prize pool of £100,000 and the winner will walk away with at least £25,000. On top of that 25 per cent of all Goliath registration fees are being donated to the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.
What else you can expect from the next five days of Goliath poker:
- Three start days featuring late and re-entry
- A 25,000 starting stack and 40 minute clock
- Live streaming from the feature table and live blogs
Sunday’s Goliath finale will round off a busy month of poker for Coventry, which has also hosted the third leg of our very own PPUKT. But that’s not all. GUKPT Coventry’s £1,000 + £70 Main Event will be taking place alongside the latter stages of Goliath from the 25th-27th August, along with a full schedule of side events and satellites.
