Grundy to be Blom’s latest challenger
PLO whiz Ben ‘milkybarkid’ Grundy could be the latest player
to challenge Viktor ‘isildur1’ Blom in the Superstar Showdown.
Grundy is a controversial figure in the poker community at
the moment, with legions of players on two plus two forums debating over
whether or not graphs provided in his blog are fake. The graph in question
shows his earnings at just under $8million after less than half a million
hands.
However, Grundy has hit back against criticisms over
the graph’s authenticity. He issued a challenge to all non-believers in his
blog, stating the conditions as follows:
‘-
If I can’t prove beyond doubt that I’ve won at least $5,000,000 I’ll pay out
$60,000??
– If I can prove beyond doubt that I’ve
won at least $5,000,000 I win only $30,000.’
It’s likely that the young pro’s
choice to put his money where his mouth is will silence a few sceptics. Of
course, he would certainly gain more credibility if he managed to trounce
Isildur in the Superstar Showdown.
Isildur is a formidable opponent,
having beaten a number of seasoned pros including Eugene Katchalov and Tony G,
so he has his work cut out for him.
Grundy announced his interest in
taking up the challenge on the condition that only PLO would be played. He
expressed how he was looking forward to the online confrontation, adding that ‘We had some epic run-ins
on iPoker if the rumours of his IDs are true before, so it should be a fun
match.’
At
this stage, there is no clear favourite for the winner. However, what is sure
is that the match will serve as a real clash of the titans. We can’t wait.
