Grinder out as WSOP reaches final two

Duhamel and Racener heads-up for $8.9 million

After 14 hours of top drawer poker and once-in-a-lifetime suck outs, chip leader Jonathan Duhamel will face-off against underdog John Racener for the WSOP Main Event and $8.9 million, as Michael ‘The Grinder’ Mizrachi narrowly missed his chance at the title.

Coming into the day as an outside favourite, Mizrachi fought his way up the chip leader board before the deck turned cold, eventually busting out in fifth place for $2,332,992. Filippo Candio swiftly followed for $3,092,545, leaving Joseph Cheong to battle it out with Racener and Duhamel for the crown.

But a moment of madness from Cheong saw him bluff off his entire stack off with A7 against Duhamel’s QQ in a 190 million pot, the biggest in WSOP history, leaving short-stacked Racener with the seemingly impossible task of overturning Duhamel’s 150 million chip lead.
