The Gala Casinos British Poker Tour reaches it’s half way point with a visit to Liverpool in September
After an oversubscribed Main Event and bumper prize pool in Bristol, the GCBPT is set to take ‘the long and winding road’ to the Gala Casino in Liverpool for the next leg of the tour, setting up shop 17-21 September.
It is the Tour’s first venture into the North West, and in a city known as a hotbed for poker, it is sure to be a well attended event, with nearly 100 are up for grabs in live and online satellites
Marking the half-way point of the tour, the last GCBPT event in Bristol in June was the most successful yet, with over 600 runners, including 249 in the £500+£50 Main Event and an overall prize pool of £182,800. Liverpool promises to be a great mix between the amateur satellite winner and the seasoned pro, within a balanced tournament structure.
The Tour is gaining a real following of “regulars”, with players appreciating a well organised, well dealt tournament, with an excellent atmosphere.
As in previous events, the Main Event will be a £500+£50 NLHE freeze-out, with two starting days (day 1a Friday 19 September, day 1b Saturday 20 September) with players returning for the final day on Sunday 21st September.
With a capacity of 220 runners, the estimated £110,000 prize pool will be swelled further by the £5,000 added by Galapoker.co.uk. First place will automatically receive a £2,000 bonus package into the Grand Final Main Event in December, with 2 and 3 finishers guaranteed Main Event Bonus Seats into Teesside £500+£50 Main Event.
Gala Casinos Tournament Director, Robin Blair, said: “The tour is going from strength to strength and I think that the quality of the tournament structure, the dealers and the friendly atmosphere throughout are really starting to show, making it a really pleasant experience for both the beginner and the professional.”
