Fitness instructor Lee Richardson wins Great British Poker Tour Leeds and £20,820
Amateur Halifax poker player Lee Richardson conquered a host of celebrities and poker pros to win £20,820 in the Leeds leg of the Great British Poker Tour (GBPT) in association with Gala Casinos.
Fitness instructor Lee from Halifax, secured his seat into the GBPT main event through Sunrise FM, the largest Asian radio broadcaster in the region, to report on his entry into the tournament.
Amazingly, he went on to beat over 109 other poker players including top pro player Willie Tann, Great Britain Rugby League Captain and Leeds Rhinos prop Jamie Peacock as well as snooker legend Ken Doherty and Olympic Gold medalist Darren Campbell.
His prize not only includes £20,820 but a VIP package to represent Leeds at the GBPT Grand Final main event in Bristol, early November 2007.
The Grand Final, which is expected to conclude the ‘GBPT 2007’ in spectacular style with a week of big money tournaments culminating in the £500,000 Main Event will take place at the Gala Casino Harbourside, in Bristol, UK from 5-11 November 2007.
