Full Tilt hearing suspended

Postponed decision keeps players in the dark

It has been announced that the Full Tilt hearing into the site’s possibly unlawful actions has
now been delayed until mid-September.

The hearing was set following the suspension of Full Tilt’s
operating license
in June, after the AGCC’s condemnation of the company for
‘operating contrary to Alderney legislation’.

For many players unhappily awaiting their frozen funds, the
scheduled Full Tilt hearing (set for the 26th July) was something to
look forward to as a potential resolution to their problems – it signalled the
end of a long and frustrating wait.

Instead, players have been left disappointed and unsure what
is going on. It was requested that the hearing be held privately, rather than
the public affair it was originally intended to be. As reported by InsidePoker
Business
, The AGCC attempted to explain the
motivation behind this request by stating that it would ‘
allow FTP licensees to
further pursue advanced commercial negotiations which could lead to a more
beneficial outcome for player interests.’

 The
rumour mill has recently been going into overdrive, with many guessing that
Full Tilt is in negotiations with a mystery investor who could help to return
players’ money (an estimated $150million). Evidently it feels a public hearing
might negatively affect the chances of this going ahead.

 The
meeting has now been postponed until mid-September, so it looks like players
will have to be on tenterhooks regarding the future of their cash for a little
while longer.
