The giant Native American run Connecticut Casino celebrates a 15 year milestone
The biggest casino on the Eastern Seaboard of America and a poker landmark Foxwoods is celebrating it’s 15th birthday this weekend.
To commemorate its 15th Anniversary, Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, executives, employees and guests will gather to mark the special occasion with a gesture of substance over style.
The massive casino will announce a donation totaling $150,000 to 15 charities from across Connecticut and Rhode Island. It will mark 15 years since Foxwoods Bingo & Casino opened its doors to the public and just a year and a half before the opening of the stunning new MGM Grand at Foxwoods.
“Anniversaries are so often all about pomp and circumstance,” said John O’Brien, President of Foxwoods. “While that is certainly fun to be part of a festive celebration, we at Foxwoods wanted to be sure to recognize this milestone with something of substance, that would also be lasting, meaningful and supportive of the communities that surround us.”
The day’s events will include an afternoon public celebration and commemorative cake cutting, followed by an evening VIP reception featuring governmental officials and dignitaries, Tribal Council members, Foxwoods executives and those who played a pivotal role in the growth of Foxwoods over the past 15 years.
A press event announcing the recipients of the charitable donations will take place later this month at Foxwoods.
