Final Four At WSOPE Heads-up

Just four players remain in the £10,000 High Roller Heads-up event at the WSOPE

One of the most anticipated events at the 2010 WSOPE is the £10,000 High Roller Heads-up and after a marathon day’s play yesterday there are just four players remaining. The semi-final matches to play out this afternoon are:

Gus Hansen vs Andrew Feldman
Ram Vaswani vs Jim Collopy

It’s a fascinating final four, with many interesting sub-plots. Hansen is looking for his first WSOP bracelet and a win here would also silence many of his critics after reported huge losses in the nosebleed online cash games throughout the last few years. Hansen defeated Phil Ivey in an earlier round.

Feldman is also going for his first WSOP bracelet and as an online heads-up specialist was always favoured to do well in this event. He had to get through a marathon encounter versus Daniel Negreanu in the quarter-finals.

Vaswani will be looking to join Praz Bansi and JP Kelly as the only Brits to have two WSOP bracelets. It’s been a lean few years on the tournament circuit for the Hendon Mob member so a win here would remind the poker world that he is still a major force.

Collopy is the least well-known of the four but is a big name online, with many big scores in tournaments. He plays online as ‘Mr_BigQueso’.

The event drew a larger than anticipated 103 players and the winner tonight will be taking home £288,409.
