Basebaldy takes down winner-take-all final table
The North American Poker Tour LA leg rounded-off last week with Eric ‘Basebaldy’ Baldwin grabbing the $134,280 first prize in the $5,250 Bounty Shootout.
In total, 81 players arrived at the Crystal Casino in California’s notorious Compton district, with play spread across nine tables, with the winner of each guaranteed $20,000, plus $1,000 for each player eliminated on route to the winner-take-all final table.
And Baldwin needed to overcome a tough mix of experienced pros and up-and-coming stars to lift his first NAPT title, as top pros, such as November Niner Michael Mizrachi, Tom ‘kingsofcards’ Marchese and David Williams joined him on the final table.
But as the big names fell by the wayside, Baldwin found himself heads-up with Justin Young and their marathon battle was ended when Baldwin, having clawed his way back from a 3-1 chip deficit, got it all-in pre-flop with pocket Kings against Young’s AQ.
Baldwin’s pair held for the $134,280 first prize, to add to his $20,000 preliminary table win and $3,000 in player bounties.
Here’s how the rest of the final table fared:
1 Eric Baldwin $134,280 + $20,000 + $3,000 in bounties
2 Justin Young $20,000 + $6,000 in bounties
3 David Williams $20,000 + $4,000 in bounties
4 Mohsin Charania $20,000 + $5,000 in bounties
5 Tom Marchese $20,000 + $4,000 in bounties
6 Clint Coffee $20,000 + $3,000 in bounties
7 Pat Pezzin $20,000 + $2,000 in bounties
8 Michael Mizrachi $20,000 + $4,000 in bounties
9 Kevin MacPhee $20,000 + $3,000 in bounties
