The PokerStars EPT London is back
Autumn will arrive with a bang with the start of Season 8 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) London Poker Festival, beginning on September 29.
The week long festival boasts what are sure to be some cracking events, including a variety of games from traditional NL Hold’em to more nuanced variations such as NL Turbo Rivers (where each player receives their own river card).
Most hotly anticipated is of course the £5,000 Main Event, following Season 7’s winner banking a robust £900,000 prize. Last season’s Main Event smashed records by attracting 848 players, becoming the then largest poker tournament ever held in the UK.
Other events sure to be popular this year are the NL Holdem Women’s Event (October 2, buy-in £500 + £50), the lavish NL High Roller 8 Max (October 4, buy-in £20,000 + £500), and for the more modest wallets among us, the NL Holdem Hyper Turbo (October 5, £100 + £20).
Homegrown talent Liv Boeree is one of the big names set to make an appearance, commenting that “I am so excited that the EPT London Festival of Poker is just around the corner. It will mark a year since I joined Team PokerStars Pro and it was one of the best series of poker tournaments I’ve played in.”
If you can’t quite put up the cash for a direct buy-in PokerStars promises many cheaper satellite packages, so there’s every reason to have a swing at it. Good luck and get gambling!
