The European Championship of Online Poker III came to an exciting close today with paddypowerpoker.com player Eoghan ‘Intruder123’ O’Dea triumphing over a field of 1,283 to earn a $315,000 payday and the title of ECOOP III Main Event champion.

The $1,060 buy-in tournament ran for a little over 15 hours, with the top 150 players earning a share of the $1,500,000 in the prizepool. O’Dea also wins a jewel-encrusted 18 carat gold bracelet, which was designed exclusively for the Main Event winner.

O’Dea will have the opportunity to overshadow his victory, the biggest in his career to date, when he moves under the studio lights later in the week to contest the semi-finals of the live Poker Million tournament in London, England. There he will join paddypowerpoker.com’s Ciaran ‘Big C’ O’Leary and 14 other of the world’s top players vying for a $1,000,000 first prize.

Marty Smyth’s $50,000 Freeroll

It’s just two days until the Boylepoker.com Marty Smyth $50,000 Freeroll which offers online players a chance to win 5% of Smyth’s payday in the upcoming Poker Million VII. Registration opens today (Wednesday Dec. 10) at 8am.

Smyth, who has made it through to the final 16 of the Poker Million ensuring a minimum pay day of $20,000, has made the final table of the event in 2006 and 2007 with total winnings to date of $600,000.
