The PartyPoker Dutch Open will take place in London in August, featuring the cream of Dutch poker
Matchroom Sport has announced that the first PartyPoker Dutch Open will be filmed between 11-14 August.
36 top Dutch poker players and personalities will take to the felt to play for a €117,000 prize-fund. The buy-in for the tournament is set at €2,500, with the PartyPoker Dutch Open winner taking home €50,000. The tournament takes place in London and will be produced by Matchroom Sport.
The field is filling fast, amongst those to sign-up are well known pros Rob Hollink, Rolf “Aces” Slotboom and Milly Uylenbroek. Hollink has been one of the top players on the European circuit for a number of years, taking down top multi-million dollar tournaments, while the highly regarded Slotboom is fresh from an impressive cash at the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas.
Eindhoven’s Milly Uylenbroek is a highly rated player and making the money in the ladies event at the WSOP has built her reputation even further. Other recent sign-up’s include Tsai Chen and Peter Dalhuijsen.
The tournament will also be a showcase for “Team Veronica Poker,” a group of highly regarded Dutch poker personalities and celebrities. A PartyPoker spokesman said, “Dutch players are a major force in the poker world and this is a great way to showcase their talents. We’re delighted to be sponsoring this tournament but we decided not to insist on orange felt on the table."
"After all, the orange and dark orange chips were the subject of a lot of debate at the WSOP. We’re not sure if it is the favourite colour of poker players other than main event winner Jerry Yang at the moment, even if the player is Dutch!”
The show will be broadcast later this year. Commentary will be provided by Frans Frederik and Rob Hollink.
