Rob Hollink heads the field for the first ever Dutch Open in London organised by PartyPoker
The cream of Dutch poker descends on London this weekend for the inaugural PartyPoker Dutch Open, and PartyBets.com make Rob Hollink the 6/1 favourite to win the title.
The Matchroom Sport produced and organized runs from Saturday 11-14 August and includes top professionals as well as celebrities ranging from a rapper to a Dutch Idol winner.
A PartyBets.com spokesman said: “Rob has to be the favourite to win the tournament, the fact that he is one of the most well known names means we will automatically see interest in him. However, there is a group of players who are strongly fancied to fair well in this format."
"Amongst those rated to go far include Rolf Slotboom at 7/1, Tuncar Alper at 8/1 and Ruud Blokhoff, Peter Daljusen, Jorryt Van Hoof and Ad Schapp at 10/1.”
“There are a number of celebrities taking part including rapper Bart Zeilstra, Idol winner Maud Mulder, footballer Richard Witschge, darts player Michael Van Gerwen and television presenters Gallyon Van Vessem and Dennis Weening. The chances of a Dutch poker playing rapper winning are rated at 100/1 and the majority of the celebrities are long shots. Bookmakers regard Richard as the most likely of the celebrities to go furthest in a tournament.”
36 top Dutch poker players and personalities will take to the felt to play for a €117,000 prize-fund. The buy-in for the tournament is set at €2,500, with the winner taking home €50,000. The celebrities form “Team Veronica” and will be playing a special one off table before the tournament formally starts.
The event will be broadcast later this year on TV, with commentary provided by Frans Frederik and Rob Hollink.
