Dusk Till Dawn set to open its doors and announces details of inaugural live poker tournaments
It’s been a long road, but live poker on a grand scale is set to come to Nottingham in the next fortnight as the finishing touches are put on the Dusk Till Dawn club.
The tables are set, the chairs are in place and the bar is stocked full – with just over a week to go, Dusk Till Dawn is now raring to open its doors.
Rob Yong, MD of Dusk Till Dawn, says: “It’s been a long struggle but it’s been worth it. The club is looking great and I know the poker community are going to love it.”
Demand has been high for the UK’s first legal poker club – all events sold out straight away which led to an increase in capacity from 81 to 108 runners.
On Saturday 1 December the club will be hosting its Opening Weekend Main Event £500 +£50 also capped at 108. This tournament has a list of professional players so experienced it will be one of the hardest £500 fields in a decade!
Simon Trumper, Live Poker Director, says: “I never had any doubts that we would sell all our seats for the opening weekend. We can’t rest on our laurels now though as the real challenge is to make Dusk Till Dawn the best club in Europe and keep players coming through our door over the years to follow.”
Though the club’s popularity has been a strong part of the draw, a new feature on DTDPoker, Dusk Till Dawn’s online counterpart, has made it possible for people not only to register but buy-in online as well. All a player has to do is register as they would for an online tournament, turn up on the day with photo ID and take their seat.
From Thursday 22 November this will become a regular feature with players being able to buy-in to tournaments in advance on the poker client.
Although seats for the Opening Weekend are by invite only, members of the general public will be able to enter on a first come, first served basis for any future events.
