Troubled site to meet AGCC on July 26
Full Tilt Poker will face a hearing into the suspension of its operating licence at London’s Park Plaza Victoria Hotel on July 26, a month after the Alderney Gambling Control Commission pulled the plug on the site’s worldwide operations.
The AGCC suspended Full Tilt’s operating licence last June after accusing the site of ‘operating contrary to Alderney legislation’.
‘The decision to suspend these licenses follows a special investigation prompted by the indictments unsealed by US Attorney General’s Office in the Southern District of New York on 15th April 2011,’ said a statement issued on June 29.
This week, Executive Director of AGCC, André Wilsenach, added: ‘AGCC’s choice to hold a public hearing in to the future of Full Tilt Poker demonstrates our willingness to act transparently and we will welcome members of the public and the media. As ever at all times, our primary concern is the protection of the player.’
It’s unclear who or even if any Full Tilt shareholders will show their face at the trial, with Howard Lederer in particular still AWOL since the events of Black Friday in April.
As always, PokerPlayer will bring you all the latest on Full Tilt as and when we have it.
