Dan Harrington throws his (green) cap into the Irish Open field

paddypowerpoker.com today announces that ‘Action Dan’ Harrington returns to Ireland to take part in the Irish Open 2009. The 1995 WSOP Main Event champion last played in the Irish Open in 2007 and is the 3rd former world champion (alongside Jamie Gold and Noel Furlong) to register for this year’s tournament.

Dan Harrington is one of the world’s most successful tournament players, holding two WSOP bracelets and one of only five players who have won both a WSOP Main Event and a World Poker Tour title. He made the final table of the WSOP Main Event in consecutive years (2003 and 2004), a feat widely heralded as one of the most impressive in poker history. His live tournament winnings exceed $ 6,500,000.

He has co-authored some of the poker world’s most celebrated strategy books such as Harrington On Hold’em Volumes I-III and is a successful businessman away from the tables.
