HitSquad star overcomes stacked final table
Chaz Chattha finally got his hands on a GUKPT title this weekend, putting three final table heartaches behind him to beat UK hotshot Toby Lewis heads-up and bank £59,630.
Chattha, a prominent member of UK poker crew the HitSquad, follows brother Sunny Chattha into the GUKPT history books after seeing off one of the most stacked final tables in recent GUKPT history.
Chattha turned a final table short stack into almost £60k after battling past Lewis and fellow UK star Andrew Feldman three-handed. Former GUKPT champs Dan Furnival and Ergun Macit also came close, but in the end it was Chattha who claimed victory when his A-K held over Lewis’ A-10 heads-up.
By winning in Luton, Chattha became the fourth HitSquad member to lift a GUKPT title, leaving former November Niner James Akenhead the only Squaddie without the coveted prize.
The final table finished as follows:
1. Charles Chattha £59,360
2. Toby Lewis £40,280
3. Andrew Feldman £25,970
4. Albert Keegan £15,370
5. Antonio German £11,660
6. Daniel Furnival £9,540
7. Michael Huber £7,420
8. Jonathan Weekes £5,830
9. Ergun Macit £4,240
10. George Hassabis £3,710
