Online operator Absolute Poker is set to do its bit for world hunger, poverty and disease
Absolute Poker, a site certainly in need of some good publicity at the moment, has announced plans for a charity poker tournament to help combat world hunger, poverty and disease.
“When it comes to extreme poverty, too many people on this planet have been dealt a bad hand,” stated David Clainer, senior vice president for Absolute Poker. “We’re inviting poker players to help put an end to poverty through a fundraiser that’s both rewarding and fun.”
The ONE charity poker tournament takes place on Saturday, December 1st at 20:30 ET and costs $10+1 to enter.
While $10 from each buy-in will go toward the prize pool, all poker tournament fees collected from the Texas Hold’em poker tournament will be donated to ONE, an organization with the sole goal of making poverty history.
What’s more, the popular online poker site will match the tournament fees collected, essentially doubling the donation to ONE.
Complete details on ONE can be found at www.one.org.
