Blom and Haxton $1m Showdown

Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom and Isaac ‘philivey2694’ Haxton’s recent online duels were some of the greatest in high-stakes memory, and after two dramatic battles the duo are set for a $1m SuperStar Showdown to the pleasure of railbirds worldwide.

On March 31, both players will sit down with a whopping $500,000 each in a winner-take-all showpiece across four tables of $200/$400 NLHE on PokerStars. If the four hour session doesn’t produce a winner, the pair will sit down again on Sunday and every day going forward until one player wins it all.

Blom has lost both previous encounters with Haxton, and holds a 9-4 record in his 13 SuperStar Showdowns so far, but this weekend’s match-up is arguably more important than all the others combined.

Since his unveiling as a PokerStars pro in 2011, Isildur1 hasn’t lost any of his appeal in the game, and is still widely regarded as the swingiest, and most exciting, star of the nosebleeds. Haxton meanwhile has been on the scene for years and with over $4m in live earnings, is a proven force in the poker.

And while this weekend’s match-up probably won’t prove who’s the best high-stakes grinder around, if you’re anything like us, it should make for some must-see poker.
