Black Belt Poker Launches

Neil Channing launches blackbeltpoker.com, a new community for UK players

InsidePoker’s 2008 Player of the Year Neil Channing and Nik Persaud have announced details of an exciting new site that looks to change the future of UK poker. Their site, blackbeltpoker.com, will act as a social community for the UK’s best poker players and serve as a breeding ground for those trying to reach the top.

Black Belt Poker works off a number of key strands:

Networking

Black Belt Poker will serve as a social network for people to communicate upon about poker.

Improving your game

Black Belt Poker is all about helping people become better players, and having a place where they can come to share ideas with like minded people.

Mentoring

As people go through the ranks, they’ll be given access to advanced strategy articles, personal hand analysis, video tutorials and one-to-one private mentoring.

Staking

Once players have proved themselves, they can be offered staking online to remove the element of risk with bankroll management. With higher belt categories, they can even be backed for live comps or even become a Black Belt Pro.

Blogging

Black Belt Poker will be presenting exclusive, up-to-date blogs of some of the game’s most respected players.

Black Belt Poker also has a unique ‘belt system’ whereby players can work their way up the ranks and achieve superb rewards. They will be offering the same system as in martial arts, whereby players will start off as white belts and gradually move their way up through the ranks as they stake, win and contribute to the site. The ultimate goal is, of course, to be a black belt, at which point, the player will become a face of Black Belt Poker and enjoy all the benefits of that.

Full details of the benefits to each belt and ways to move up will be officially released in the next few weeks when the site goes live. PokerPlayer will be on hand with the latest details on this exciting development as they happen.
