The Betfair.com Poker Masters of Europe is heating up with four players through to the final table
William Thorson and Richard Collier will join Roy Brindley and Steve Cordy at the final table of the Betfair.com Poker Masters of Europe.
Swedish player Thorson came 13th at the WSOP Main Event 2006 winning $907,128, 3rd at EPT Dublin 2006 and second at the Showdown Poker Tour in Denmark 2006.
Collier, from Folkestone in Kent, is the second internet qualifier to make the final table after Welshman Steve Cordy qualified on day 1. The 20-yearold has been an internet poker pro for a year and plays single table tournaments online at Betfairpoker.com.
Collier said, “I had 50k in chips compared to Robin Keston’s 390k stack and Ross Boatman’s 160k. As the blinds increased I played ultra aggressively and fortunately my pair of 2s held up against Ross’s 67 diamonds.
“I played an extremely good heads-up game and managed to beat him down from a 370k chip lead.”
The 5th and 6th heats take place today to decide who will join these four in a bid to share the $300,000 prize pool.
