Two $1,000,000+ pots as Ivey, Antonius and Isildur1 smash all online records
Just last week PokerPlayer.co.uk reported on Patrik Antonius beating Isildur1 out of the biggest pot in online poker history, worth $879,000. Well, the action has only heated up since then and the same two players absolutely decimated their own record on Sunday November 22nd, playing an incredible $1,356,947 pot.
The two were again playing $500/$1000 PLO with extremely deep stacks. The pot was five-bet preflop, with around $160k already in the middle before the 5c-4s-2h flop. With Ah-Kh-Ks-3s Antonius bet out $91k, Isildur potted it to $435k before Antonius dropped the hammer and re-potted to an incredible $779,000, covering the unknown phenom. Pot-committed at this point, Isildur1 made the easy call with 9s-8h-7d-6d for a multitude of straight draws versus Patrik’s made wheel. The turn and river bricked out for the Lord Of The Rings fan though and Antonius scooped the record-breaking pot.
As if that wasn’t enough insanity the very next night Isildur1 was involved in another $1m+ pot, this time coming out on the winning end against Phil Ivey. Despite this comeback the Swedish player, rumoured to be 19-year-old Viktor Blom, has been getting battered in these encounters with kings of the hill Ivey and Antonius. This time last week he was up around $6m – mostly as a result of multiple encounters with Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan – however recent tracking records suggest he may ‘only’ be in around $750,000 of profit now.
As we speak, Antonius and Isildur1 are locked in another four-table PLO extravaganza so prepare for big swings in those profit/loss numbers before the day is out. The eyes of the online world are on these two players right now and so far they have lived up to the hype.
