APAT announces full live and online
tournament schedule for first season
The newly formed Amateur Poker Association & Tour has announced its schedule for the first season. The organisation, which aims to bring affordable deep-stack poker tournaments to your doorstep and PC, is putting on six tournaments across the UK and Ireland between September 2006 and June 2007. The season culminates in the World Amateur Poker Championships in Las Vegas next August.
In addition there will be 26 online tourneys on PokerStars at $22 a pop. The first live event is set to take place on September 23-24 at Birmingham’s Broadway Casino.
High demand
APAT, which launched last month, received enough sign-ups on its first day to fill the largest UK casino’s tournament room, so entry into the live events is expected to be very competitive. PokerPlayer promises to keep you up-to-date with how you can get involved. But when there’s entry into a European Poker Tour or World Series of Poker Main Event being added to the prize pool of each live event can you really afford to miss out?
As an additional incentive, the player with the highest points ranking from both live and online play will win an all-expenses paid trip, including tournament entry, to the PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure World Poker Tour event.
PokerPlayer is offering a half-price joining fee of £5 to all readers. Simply enter the ‘Player51’ promotional code when signing up at www.apat.com.
