The toughest and richest online poker series of the year is back
The big one is back, the online equivalent of the WSOP has arrived and this year the World Championship of Online Poker promises to be bigger than ever. Running from September 2-23, the three-week poker festival kicked-off yesterday and the first 2 events are up and running. Event 1 which is a $215 NL Hold’em 6-max still has 64 players in with a chance of winning the $220,000 first prize while the winner of the second event, a $215 NL Hold’em full-ring can expect a juicy $300,000 payday for first place.
Like previous years the 2012 WCOOP tournament schedule features a huge selection of different events across a wide range of buy-ins and there are qualifiers running all throughout the day on PokerStars. Last year, the 2011 WCOOP gave away a staggering $47,120,800. Spread over 22-days, this year’s WCOOP has a total of 65 events finishing with the $5,200 Main Event, which guarantees $1,000,000 for first place.
