Brit finishes sixth in WPT National Series
Sam Trickett’s astonishing start to 2011 continued this week, as the Retford youngster added a WPT final table and €43,545 to his bulging resume.
Trickett has amassed more than $2,900,000 in live tournament earnings over the past six weeks, and looked set to add a first WPT title to January’s Aussie Millions $100,000 Challenge crown and Super High Roller runner-up finish.
But after coming into the WPT National Series EFOP Paris final table as one of the shorter stacks, Trickett couldn’t repeat his recent success and cruelly busted sixth out of 188 runners.
Eventual winner Nikitina Natalia was glad to see the back of Britain’s most in from star, and after defeating Alexandre Brivot heads-up, the Russian bagged her first major title and the €243,830 first prize.
The WPT National Series EFOP Paris payouts were as follows:
1 Natalia Nikitina €243,830
2 Alexandre Brivot €174,170
3 Jean-Louis Tepper €113,210
4 Benjamin Pollak €69,670
5 Tobias Wagner €52,250
6 Sam Trickett €43,545
7 Ingo Paulus €34,835
8 Nicolo Calia €26,120
