High-stars mysterio finally unveiled
Who is Isildur1? What does Isildur1 look like? How does Isildur1 smell and does Isildur1 really exist? Questions like these have been floating around the high-stakes tables for just over a year now, but the mystery has finally been solved…Ladies and gentlemen, Isildur1 is *drum roll please* Viktor Blom.
The 20-year-old internet sensation was unveiled at this weekend’s PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, taking his seat in an exhibition match with fellow Stars team mate Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grosspelier as a scrum of cameramen and giddy railbirds clamoured for a peak of PokerStars newest signing.
And Blom, whose ‘secret’ identity was proposed before, was in no mood to disappoint, beating ElkY before finally explaining his decision to step out of the nosebleed shadows.
‘It’s the biggest site – they do things right… You can find every game on the site, from one cent to really high stakes. I really like to play the best and improve – that’s why I joined Team PokerStars.’
Blom is now targeting live success in 2011, but realises that his game isn’t flawless. ‘I need to learn to be more patient. I need to learn to let go of some more hands,’ he said. ‘I want to have some good live results and maybe win an EPT.’
The Swede is due to play Day 1b of the $10,000 PCA Main Event this week, and the poker world will be eager to see if he can get his hands on the $2 million first prize.
Check back with PokerPlayer later this month for a full run-down of the PCA.
