jungleman12 schools Tom Dwan in latest session
Dan ‘jungleman12’ Cates pocketed $319k from Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan in the durrrr Challenge, the first game of the New Year, taking his lead to $819k after 17,108 hands.
The latest leg lasted six hours and featured 2,918 hands of $200/$400 No Limit action across four tables. And Railbirds hoping for some fireworks were not disappointed. In total, 14 six-figure pots were played.
But the largest slice of the action went to Cates, who took down a whopping $200k in one hand, hitting a Jack-high flush to crush Dwan’s four-high.
A date for the next round of the challenge has yet to be confirmed but as the biggest online winner of 2010 – finishing $5.5m up for the year – Cates is proving a harder nut to crack than Dwan would have liked.
