Brits dominate European Poker Awards nominations

British honoured by European Poker Awards with half of all category nominations

Household names Liv Boeree, Sam Trickett and Toby Lewis are among those in line for the tenth annual EPAs, as the Brits dominated the board with at least one nomination in all seven of the award categories.

2010 was a great year for homegrown pros, with our nation’s stars cleaning up on the EPT circuit and raking an impressive five bracelets at the World Series.

Boeree got the ball rolling back in April, taking down the EPT Main Event in San Remo for €1.25m. Lewis also found himself on the EPT winners’ podium, banking Vilamoura Main Event for €467k before PokerPlayer columnist Roberto Romanello rounded of the year in fine fashion, winning the EPT Prague for €640k just months after Jake Cody took down the EPT Deauville for €847k.

And that EPT dominance was mirrored accross the pond, with Brits raking in no less than five WSOP bracelets to record our best year ever at poker’s priemier showpiece.

Our fingers will be tightly crossed in honour of our British friends when the EPA results are announced on 13 February in Paris.
