We take a look at John Tabatabai’s iPod to see what gets him raising
So tell us, what music are you listening to?
A wide range of stuff actually, from happy hardcore to The Eagles and a bit of reggae.
Do you listen to a particular type of music depending on what game you’re playing or what part of a tournament you’re in?
Some chilled laid-back music is good for a bad beat, like Bob Marley.
If you could borrow someone else’s iPod, whose would you choose and why?
That’s easy – it would have to be the player with the highest winnings.
And whose wouldn’t you borrow?
The player who has lost the most of course!
Is there a particular track or album that conjures any momentous memories in your poker career?
I bluffed Gus Hansen with 7-2 offsuit and during the hand I was listening to ‘How to speak Spanish effectively’. I’ll never forget how to ask for a train ticket in Barcelona.
If you could only load one album onto your iPod, which would it be and why?
The Prodigy’s Music for the Jilted Generation. It has a lot of variety, which is important to me.
What was the last gig you went to?
It wasn’t strictly a gig — Hed Kandi at Pacha.
