The UK’s first and only live poker show!
We have had to take the difficult decision to put The PokerPlayer Experience on hold, and the event planned for Saturday 8th September, 2007 will no longer be taking place. It has been a difficult decision as the support we have had from clients and readers alike has been huge – we had a great exhibitor line up in place, and ticket sales were going well.
It has, however, come to our attention that the proximity of our event to the new gambling legislation coming into force on the 1st September, had the potential to make us vulnerable. During the planning process for the event we sought extensive advice from our legal team and The Gambling Commission. I am still confident that all of the plans we had in place were compliant, but there are a number of grey areas that we cannot be 100% confident about and I would rather take the decision to move the event now rather than have that decision made for us nearer the time.
For these reasons, the event has been put on hold with a view to rescheduling it to a later date. I would like to thank everyone for their support, and I hope that we will be able to make an announcement about future consumer events very soon.
