The record-breaking Battle of Malta is back and the fun starts here…
Since its debut in 2012, the Battle of Malta has quickly established itself as one of the biggest and best tournaments in Europe. Last year it broke records including the biggest field for a poker tournament in Malta and the biggest ever prize pool for a €550 buy-in tournament in Europe.
It was also recognised at the European Poker Awards, where it walked away with the Event of the Year (buy-ins under $2k), beating off stiff competition from the WPT500 and the Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event.
The good news is that it’s back for 2015 and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever when it plays out November 4-9. The €550 buy-in and €500k guarantee are the same but after 1,447 players turned up last year, creating a prize pool of €701,795, the organisers are expecting 2,000 players for 2015’s event. That could see you playing for your share of a monster prize pool of €1,000,000, with a first prize of around €200,000. Not bad for a €550 buy-in!
